Barbette has received, best of's, from local press for its late night dining, desserts, wine list, and, of course, those french fries that accompany the steak frites. Barbette uses local and organic ingredients as much as possible, presenting beautiful food in a casual, eclectic, bistro atmosphere. Open daily at 8am serving brunch, lunch, dinner, and late night. A 3-4 course Prix Fixe menu is available Monday nights from 5-10pm. Happy Hours M-F 3-6pm, Su-Th 10pm-close. Hours: Su-Th 8am-1am, Fri and Sat 8am-2am.

Bryant Lake Bowl is a vintage bowling alley, restaurant, and cabaret theater located in the Lyn-Lake District of Uptown. BLB is open daily 8am-2am serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. BLB strives to present locally sourced and organic ingredients on our menu. Cheap Date Night Mondays, 6pm-12:30am, 2 entrees, 1 bottle of wine (or a few beers), 2 games of bowling, for $28. Happy Hour M-F 3-6pm, Neighborhood Night Sundays, 6pm-12:30am, featuring specials on midwestern beers and wines, $1 bowling.

Global Citizens Network (GCN) sends small teams of volunteers to rural communities around the world where the volunteers are immersed in the daily life of the community. Trips last one to three weeks, depending on the site; each team is led by a trained GCN team leader. The team works on projects initiated by people in the local community, for the benefit of the community. As worthwhile and fulfilling as the work you do will be, the true rewards come from the cross-cultural learning which takes place on these trips, making connections to others in ways they may have never experienced before.

Green Routes is a green tourism project that allows travelers and business owners to incorporate economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable practices into their tourism and business plans. Renewing the Countryside builds awareness, support, and resources for farmers, artists, activists, entrepreneurs, educators, and others whose work is helping create healthy, diverse, and sustainable rural communities.
