Do It Green! Minnesota is an all volunteer, non-profit organization with a mission to educate and motivate Minnesotans to live green, sustainably and build healthy communities. We achieve this through publishing a comprehensive web site and annual printed guidebook called Do It Green! Magazine, hosting monthly hands-on workshops, our annual Green Gifts Fair and offering a Resource Center inside the Midtown Global Market.

Our Internships are unpaid internships unless noted and are available on a flexible schedule. These are professional positions that require commitment and a genuine interest in sustainable living. Internships provide a complete hands-on experience.

Do It Green! Minnesota Team Positions Available: 
 

6th Annual Green Gifts Fair Team Member (June - Dec)

Do It Green! Minnesota will host our 6th Annual Green Gifts Fair. This event hosts 6,000+ attendees, 15 educational and activity tables on low impact holidays and over 70 vendors and local artists. Come be a part of our planning team this year. The team meets monthly and includes the following position roles: Educational Demos / Stage Manager, Promotional / Auction Coordinator, and Eco Fashion Show Coordinator. These are unpaid internship positions requiring 15 hrs/week.

2012 Do It Green! Magazine Team Members (June - Nov)

Do you have experience in writing, editing and publishing? Come be a part of our Do It Green! Magazine Team. We will publish our annual 100 page guidebook on living sustainably in Minnesota. The theme of the guidebook this year is The Ultimate Toolbox for Sustainable Living. The publishing team meets monthly. Publishing team positions include: Community member profile interview writer, team editor, team writer and cover artist. These are unpaid internship positions offering a unique publishing experience requiring a minimum of 15 hrs/week.

Resource Center Manager (June - TBD)

Do It Green! Minnesota hosts a 400 square foot Do It Green! Resource Center inside the Midtown Global Market. The resource center manager will be in charge of managing the following: reordering materials, create monthly educational displays, manage the check out library, assist in building activities/curriculum for visiting groups. This is an upaid internship position requiring a minimum of 15 hrs/week.

Outreach / Media Coordinator (June - TBD)

Do It Green! Minnesota is seeking to fill our Outreach Coordinator position. This position includes: managing and attending community outreach requests/events, assisting and promoting our monthly Do It Green! Workshops and assisting with our social networking outreach including Facebook, Twitter, Enewsletter, and press releases, as well as serving as our media contact. This is an unpaid internship position providing a vast variety of experience and requires a minimum of 15 hours/week.

Do It Green! Resource Center Volunteers

We are seeking volunteers with a passion for green living to take a volunteer shift each week or month hosting our Do It Green! Resource Center inside the Midtown Global Market. This opportunity will give you a chance to teach others about the basics of green living, for you to sit down and learn more at the center and to connect with others in the green community. Basic training will be provided.

 

Waste Reduction Coordinator for the Midtown Global Market Green Team

Do It Green! Minnesota is parntering with the Midtown Global Market to manage and facilitate the creation of a Green Team. This team will work with the vendors and internal waste management in the market to help assist in reducing the waste, recycling systems, and research the implementation of a composting system. This position will be required to attend all Green Team meetings and to assist in conducting research, meeting faciliation and notetaking and follow up work with market and Do It Green! staff. This is an upaid position. Seeking bilingual interns fluent in Spanish.
