Leave it to one of the most progressive neighborhoods in the Twin Cities to
turn an annual fundraising party into a socially-responsible fashion event. The
Bottineau Neighborhood Association (BNA), tucked away in the popular Northeast
arts district in Minneapolis, will host its annual Green Gala to raise money
for the BNA Earth Day Watershed Clean Up project. The gala brings together
fashion from area thrift stores and vintage shops like Lula, Tatters, Eastside
Thrift Store, and Global Mama to produce a green, vintage/contemporary runway
show that perfectly embodies the community’s earth-friendly vibe. The event,
focused on sustainable and local goods, features live jazz from the Greg
Schaefer Trio and boasts a silent auction with items ranging from restaurant
gift certificates, local art work, wine and spirits, photography sessions, and
other items donated by area businesses. Gala tickets provide entrance to the
event, hors d’oeuvres from Grumpy’s Bar and the Sample Room, drinks, and an
opportunity to shop local and support the neighborhood association. Visit
www.bottineauneighborhood.org to purchase tickets. $20. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 2205
